Professionalism Pods

In this learning Pod, we will explore how to use your top 5 Clifton Strengths in your chosen industry. This pod is facilitated by Jessie Barclay from the WVU Purpose Center with collaboration from Project 168. The goal of this pod is for students to gain a deeper understanding of how their unique top 5 Strengths can be incorporated into a professional career. We will explore career-based goal setting, personal and professional values, professionalism 101,  and a strengths-based approach to networking.

Strengths-Based Careers and Goal Setting

 In this session, we will open with a Strengths refresher to help students become familiar with their strengths. Each student will receive a "personal insight report" report and reflect on how their unique top 5 influence their career choices and challenges. We will end the session with setting intentional career-based goals.

Strengths-Based Professionalism

In this session, we will cover Professional 101, personal and professional values, and how to communicate your "needs and brings" in a professional manner. Each student will receive a "needs and brings" report and reflect on how their "needs and brings" influence their career choices and challenges.

Strengths-Based Networking

Networking is important in every industry and can be challenging for some. In this session, we will dive deep into how to use your unique top 5 Strengths to help you learn how to use your natural talents and abilities to network effectively. We will practice networking in this session and learn how to ask meaningful question
