The Purpose Pods are a great series for those looking to do more self-exploration. We will start with self-discovery and end with a project that helps you set goals to pursue the things you're passionate about. This pod is great for undecided students and for any student who might be considering a major change, feeling lost, or struggling to find their fit. This pod is open to students in every level and major.
Self-Discovery Workshop
In this hour-long session, we will use self-reflection and small group discussion as the facilitator leads you through guided questions focusing on the 7 elements of self-discovery. By the end of the session, you will have identified areas that give you energy, outlined characteristics of how you want to be known, and focused on accomplishments and experiences you’ve already had.
Who I am Workshop
After the reflections from our first session, we will go a step further in the self-discovery process to consider aspects of our personalities and preferences with regard to the ways in which we work and build relationships with others. We will again use a combination of self-reflection and small group discussion and guided questions to identify how we see ourselves, and where we hope that identity will lead us.
Volunteer Activity
We will work with a community partner and the CCE to participate in a service project. We will ask you to reflect on that experience prior to our final session
Purpose Vision Board Workshop
For our final session, we will create a purpose vision board that combines our reflections from the previous workshops. These boards are visual representations of our goals and dreams; we will take it a step further by also considering our purpose and values. This activity is useful because you will leave with a tangible reminder to help you reinforce daily the things that you value, and help you maintain focus on your goals. Come prepared to be creative and to leave invigorated!
