Cate Schlobohm
Cate Schlobohm serves as the Director of the WVU Purpose Center, where she leads one of the first initiatives of its kind on a four-year university campus--helping students, faculty, staff, and partners discover how their strengths can shape a more meaningful life and career. With more than15 years of experience at West Virginia University, her background spans recruitment, student development, K–12 outreach, and visitor engagement.
In 2022, Cate became a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths® Coach, bringing together her passion for personal development with her professional experience. In her work, she partners with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to help them better understand and apply their natural talents in ways that support their well-being, leadership, and sense of purpose. She has had the opportunity to share this work at the national level, as well as with partners across campus, the state, and beyond.
A proud two-time alumna of WVU’s Reed College of Media, Cate lives in Morgantown with her husband, two young children, and their Labradoodle, Cliff.
Cate's top five strengths are: Arranger®, Positivity®, Developer®, Maximizer®, and Woo®.
